Fuel Theft Method
At the July SWTSC Meeting, Member Jim Morgan discussed a method fuel thieves were using to remove fuel from company fuel pumps without the pump recording the gallons being counted. The method involves the thieves removing the cowling from the pump and then removing a cotter key from the actuator line. See the attached photo and Jim’s explanation and contact info below:
The tubing goes from right to left and where it attaches on the left is where the Cotter key is located. At the other end of the tube is where it connects to the device that counts the number of gallons being pumped. The tube could be removed there as well but takes a little more effort and more time.
